Let’s talk about Wealth!
Before we start, let’s just agree that wealthy has a different meaning to most of us! But according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary it’s as follows:
Wealth
1: abundance of valuable material possessions or resources
2: abundant supply : Profusion
3a: all property that has a money value or an exchangeable value
b: all material objects that have economic utilityespecially: the stock of useful goods having economic value in existence at any one time
To me, wealth means so much more than this but, for the purpose of this post, let’s keep it about finances.
1st reason you would want to be wealthy is FREEDOM, when you have money you have the freedom to walk away from that job that you don’t like but need to keep because you need that pay check at the end of the month! Remember, wealth brings options!
2nd reason you should want to be wealthy is to have COMFORT! Remember, being frugal or cooking from scratch is great when you are getting out of debt BUT once you have reached a stage in your life where you no longer live pay-check to pay-check paying for commodities is so nice!!!
3rd reason is GIVING. Once you live a comfortable life you are in a position to help others. I don’t mean just giving 10% of your earnings or give $100 sporadically! I mean big time giving, the kind of giving that changes a family’s life. This might be the best reason yet, or at least the one that will bring you more joy.
4th reason is SELF-IMPROVEMENT. Once you have the right tools in place to achieve wealth, you can’t help but want to do more and better, you feel motivated without the pressure or the stress that lack of money brings. You become unstoppable!
5th reason is PEACE OF MIND! – Here I’m speaking from experience, there is nothing that will rob you of some sleep than not knowing if you will make your payments at the end of the month. If you will have enough money to put food on the table for your family. If you lose your job, how will you pay all the bills?!
These are my 5 reasons why I want to be Wealthy, you might not agree with some or you may have lots more to add to the list. It’s all good. Remember, you have to think what is your WHY, why do you want to be wealthy? Once you define your why, everything will start to make sense and you will be motivated to make the changes you need to conquer the next phase of your life!
