5 Reasons to Start Budgeting

March 3, 2021

I get that not everyone is on board with getting on a budget. We can all find at least five reasons for not doing it, me included, but, the truth of the matter is that you will feel like a whole new person once you get on a budget.

Remember, I live on a budget and yes, I was exactly where you are right now! I didn’t want to hear about budgeting because I felt it would limit me in my day to day. Well, it does, but not in a negative way, bare with me here. You don’t necessarily get on a budget with the intention or need to get out of debt. You may want to change the way you handle money so that you can actually spend it on things that give you pleasure instead of always wondering where all your money is going!

My list for going on a budget, or keep having a budget has changed a lot over the years (you can read about that here), today I have a list of 5 reasons for budgeting and I only need to revise them once or twice a year… I hope this list gives you a little hint about what a budget is all about!

  1. The first rule of budgeting is to be more mindful of my money;
  2. Keep on track with my savings;
  3. Track our lifestyle cost;
  4. Keep on track with vacation and Christmas funds &
  5. PERMISSION TO SPEND!

It’s a simple list, I don’t need spread sheets or fancy apps to stay on top of these five things (you totally can if that’s your kind of thing, I’m just, challenged that way!!!) but they are absolutely life changing for me.

Yes, even though it comes in at number five, that is the most important item on the list for me. Do you relate to my list? Drop me a line and tell me about it!
