So, lately I’ve had the opportunity privilege of coaching a few women who were having some issues with staying on track with their money! No, they were not in debt, not like I was (if you’re new here you can read all about it here!), but they actually make a good living but they weren’t really organised with their finances and just wanted to get on track. If you know me a little you know that my superpower is to talk to people and getting to know them (right after talking myself out of everything!!!!). Love people.
I thought I’d give you some pointers as to what to do if you find yourself in a similar situation. Let’s face it, you work a lot, you love going out with your friends, you pay the bills and sometimes, well…it’s difficult to keep up with all the things including your personal accounts/accounting/finances… whatever it is for you! But you want to do better, you told yourself it was a new years resolution and suddenly it’s June (almost July!!) and… nothing! And I’m not here to judge you, I leave that to those acquaintances, you know who they are!. I really just want you to have a couple of tools you can use when you finally decide to. There’s no point in me, or anyone else, try to get all this down your throat if you are not in the right place to take it seriously, so you decide, all is good!
- Do you know how much is your actual take home pay? Really? So you could just tell me how much you earn? Right out of the top of your head? That’s awesome!! You rock girl! You are already ahead of most people (including me because I’m self employed so it’s always “SURPRISE” at the end to the month!), just write it down on the top of a sheet of paper.
- Now it’s time to list all your FIXED bills for the month. Things like, rent, utilities, whichever bills you have every month.
- It’s time to list all your other bills, the ones you have every month but they vary in total depending on your needs or the amount of money you have (guilty!!!) that month.
- Now subtract all your expenses from your income.
Here’s the kicker, if you still have money left after all the expenses you are awesome, you rock and you are on the right track to be a millionaire!
Now, if you end up with a – sign before the numbers after you totalled everything, you are awesome, you rock and you are on the right track to be a millionaire!
I’m not joking, the first step to be on the right track to become a millionaire is to be aware of your financial situation and YOU just did it! You took the first step, the one that everyone is afraid to take. It doesn’t even matter if people have a great income or not, they just don’t want to know where they are at because it feels so overwhelming! So you see, you are already ahead of them! No matter the situation.
OK, so you will become a millionaire according to the next steps you take and what you are willing to do to get there but those are just details!
YOU ARE AWESOME!
When you decide you are ready to take the next step know that you can reach out for support and accountability in my FB group here ! I have no doubt you can do it but you don’t have to do it alone!
