I’m here today to give you an update on the Challenge I began on the 1st of May! Last week was so hectic that I had no time to even write a blog post!!! Sorry about that. I’m trying to be consistent and keeping up with my duties but, like with money, life happens and it’s not always under your control to keep things the way you want. Having said that, I’m really excited about this challenge! It’s getting the momentum back. I (almost) missed it! Having to write down where all the money went and where it came from. It’s so freeing for me knowing this… I’m so boring.
The challenge started exactly one week ago, last Saturday, and so far I have €50,05!! Isn’t that awesome?! Let me break it down for you:
- Day 1 – 0,55€ found in purses
- Day 2 – 1,56€ found in junk drawer
- Day 3 – 0,42€ saved at supermarket
- Day 4 – 3,52€ didn’t buy one thing I usually buy without thinking. Ice-cream!!!
- Day 5 – 36,00€ Things I sold online, clothes and decor stuff
- Day 6 – 1,00€ Paid in Cash and this was the change.
- Day 7 – 7,00€ Saved the same amount as the “day” number!
NOTE: Some of these were done on different days, but I work the plan or challenge around my life, I mean just because on a given day I should pay everything in cash to save the change, I won’t go out of my way to go buy something if I haven’t planned for it, so I’ll just do it on another day. Challenges and budgets work when we are willing to make an effort. But also when we truly incorporate the change in our lifestyle, otherwise we start resenting it and end up giving up before we get any traction. Please don’t do that! Sure you need to change your habits, most of the time to follow a budget or a plan but don’t force it or just change everything overnight! It’s not a good plan! I was struggling for years trying all the budgets and methods I saw online but I only really got results when I “decided” to make a change and to arrange my life, my mind and my money together and that takes some time. You can check my social media where I talk more about that or you can contact me by email or DM and I’ll do my best to set you up with a plan that works for you.
So this is me and I’m so excited I sold all the things I put up for sale that I’m thinking of other things I can sell to not lose the momentum!!! I will let you know about the progress next week so stay tuned. You can also find the challenge on Instagram and Facebook so go check it out and see hat other participants are saying about it! See their progress and cheer them on. We are starting a community that matters and you are welcome to come and be a part of it too!
